Schwabe’s new Portland headquarters took its cues from boutique hospitality, with interiors by Ankrom Moisan. I developed a signage and wayfinding program across three floors that supported that character while giving staff and visitors clear directions. My role covered concept development, material studies, fabrication coordination, and production management, connecting early design decisions to how the signs were ultimately made.

The system included room identification, directional signs, conference room blades inspired by Oregon parks, and a halo-lit reception feature. I worked with fabricators to make the logo’s thin strokes workable as dimensional reception lettering. Acrylic and carefully chosen finishes achieved the look of metal with less weight and cost, while matte black and warm gold connected the signs to the interiors. Those decisions kept the design’s character intact through the practical demands of production.
